Upper Extremity Prosthetics
Prosthetic limbs – upper extremity prosthetics can be used for all levels of amputation, from shoulder to fingers, including the shoulder, elbow and wrist joints.
The use of upper extremity prosthetics focuses on two main goals:
- To restore the external appearance of the user and
- To restore the user’s functionality and ability to perform specific movements.
There are five rehabilitation options using prosthetic limbs:
- Cosmetic rehabilitation
- Body-powered prosthesis
- Electric-powered prosthesis
- Prosthesis designed for specific activities
- Hybrid prosthesis
Each of the above options represents a different level of intervention and requires a different way of control by the user. Rehabline is staffed with specialized prosthetists that will help you choose the appropriate prosthetic limb – device to fulfill your needs.
